A-Plus Pets follows the Federal Government’s schedule of holidays, including:

A-Plus Pets provides pet care year round however, our office is closed on these holidays. Please make your reservations early if you require service on a holiday.

A $10 per visit or $20 per overnight gratuity is added for services provided on a holiday. This gratuity is direct compensation to your dog walker or pet sitter for working on a holiday.

A deposit is required for holiday service.

Regularly scheduled visits

For the safety of our staff, our policy is to follow the Federal Government when it comes to closures due to inclement weather. If the Federal Government is closed, A-Plus Pets will be closed and regularly scheduled service will be cancelled. Clients will not be charged.

We will remain open and services provided if the Federal Government announces liberal leave or closes early.

Clients who are away

Service will remain in place for pets that are home alone without their parents.

Arrival times may be delayed to allow our staff to reach your home safely. To ensure the health and welfare of your pets, we will determine the appropriate level of outside activity for your pet during these visits.

Cancellations

To guarantee that a cancellation fee will not be charged, please adhere to the following conditions

Same-day service. Cancellation made after 5:30pm the business day before the service date, or on the service date, the full rate will apply for that day's service.

Weekend service. Cancellation made after 5:30pm on the Friday before the weekend, the full rate applies.

Holiday service. A deposit is required for holiday service. Cancellation of the service must be made by 9am ten (10) business days before start of service, or the deposit is non-refundable. Any other cancellation will incur a 50% charge of cancelled portion.* Holiday reservation are those where any day of the whole service falls on a holiday.

Overnight service. Cancellation must be made by 9am two (2) business days before start of service, or 50% of the full rate applies. Cancellation after service has begun will incur a 50% charge of cancelled portion.*

Extended service. Cancellation for any service (dogwalking, petsitting, overnight, homecare) of more than seven (7) days must be made by 9am five (5) business days before start of service, or 50% of the full rate applies. Any cancellation after service has begun will incur a 50% charge of cancelled portion.*

NOTE: Where applicable, the cancellation terms that apply to a reservation is based on the terms requiring the greater number of days to cancel. Example: A reservation of more than seven (7) days over a holiday, the Holiday service cancellation terms would apply.

A note regarding cancellations. When we confirm a service request, we have blocked that time for you. Your pet sitter is not being assigned any other work during "your" time. When you cancel, we charge a cancellation fee to compensate the pet sitter for the lost work that they could have been assigned elsewhere.

* Except for Same-Day service and Weekend service, if applicable.

Emergencies

Need Service Right Away

Same-day request* for service is available from 9am - 9pm.

Due to the urgency and the added time to obtain your house key from our office, a surcharge of $5 will apply as direct compensation to the dog walker or pet sitter.

*Any requests made AFTER close of business (5:30pm) for service the next day will incur a late booking fee of $5 per visit. Any requests made after 5:30pm on a Friday or on a weekend for Monday service will incur a late booking fee; our office is closed on the weekends.
